Exclusive Console Games that would be better as a Arcade

I've always been a fan of 1st Person Rail Shooters, aka my love for Virtua Cop etc. I also enjoy games like resident evil, which have had Rail games on the Wii etc. However, the Wii is lacking in many ways and just not the best for this type of game.

If I were to pick any console franchise to become a series on a Aracde. It would have to be Resident Evil. There is just something about Zombie Attacks.

Does anyone else wish a certain game or series would have made it to the Arcades?

I've always thought Microsurgeon would have made an awesome arcade game with Robotron-like controls.

Others that would have made good coin-ops with some refinements:

- Caveman Ugh-lympics (PC)
- Stunt Driver (PC)
- Night Stalker (Intellivision)
- Moon Mine (TI 99/4a)
- Slimeoids (TI 99/4a)
- Squish'em Sam (Colecovision)
- Bigfoot (TI 99/4a)
- Adventures of Tron (Atari 2600)

NHL - HITZ !

2002 or 2003 would be perfect for an Arcade machine. 4 players, FAST game play, 3 minute periods (Which means a full game lasts around 15 min). Never understood why they never made an Arcade machine, but I'd like a Gamecube or PS2 Kiosk in my arcade just to add this title.

Geometry Wars (XBOX, Nintendo DS)
Malestrom (Mac)
Tempest 2000 (Jaguar)

Also, it's a crime Yars Revenge (Atari 2600) wasn't in arcades for one reason: the sound. The sounds should have been echoing throughout arcades along with the rest of `em back in the day...

super smash bros (original, melee, and brawl) would be epic as an arcade game since, it is a standard street fighter style fighting game, plus it has most of the classic nintendo characters on it

Yar's Revenge (Atari 2600). Oh and thank you Rich at This Old Game for the art work.

Star Wars Rebel Assault - if you like rail shooters this was great but PC's at the time and PC controllers were awful. With tighter smoother controls this would have been a great hit.

VVVVVV (or The Letter V Six Times).

I recently added this to my mame cabinet and it is incredible. It is technically a Steam game and not a console game, but the same idea applies (and I left consoles behind 12 years ago when PCs became the superior platform). I also have the non-steam version from a charity promo and thus could put it on my mame cabinet without running steam.

Super Meat Boy

I quite enjoyed this on Steam with a gamepad. I have the non steam version as well, however my mame cabinet wasn't upgraded enough in the directx/microsoft crap area enough to run it.

Jamestown

4 player shooter. I quite enjoyed this on Steam with a gamepad. I have the non steam version as well, however my mame cabinet wasn't upgraded enough in the directx/microsoft crap area enough to run it.

Yea I agree with Smash Bros. It would be a good arcade fighting game.

Project gotham racing or Forza racing would be good too. Something with a multi monitor setup.
