I cannot believe what I just did.........

I was working in the garage repairing a $10 toy for my son and dropped a drill onto the back of a fully rebuilt 6100 and broke the neck off.

Words cannot express my feelings right now.....

I was going to go ballistic but then realized that nothing I say or do will bring that CRT back...
I guess with age comes control of RAGE!!!!!!

Thanks for the sympathy, it is appreciated.

that pic will haunt me for some time, as i did the same thing to a monitor.(skill saw) fell and broke mine. was cutting new back doors. i feel your pain.

Ouch! I feel your pain on that 6100 dude!
Go easy on your son. He has no idea what just happened...
I have a 3 year old and I watch him like a hawk when he's around my arcade stuff.
He loves to go to the garagecade and play Sinistar. (He's probably better at it than me!)

Damn, looking at that picture brings tears to my eyes....

Damn man, that sucks. I just moved all my monitors out of my shop for that reason. Dropped a basketball dangerously close to a perfect 19". Now they are safe and sound in their own closet.

I saved a bunch of Vision Pro boxes but I'm still guilty of having a few monitors sitting around with those fragile necks exposed.

Necking a monitor is a rite of passage in the hobby, welcome to the fold!

man, that blows!!! Been there, never with a 6100 tube though.

I was carrying a 25" wg tube once and dropped it face down on the concrete. It literally imploded and spwed big shards of glass all over my garage. I was really suprised i didnt get hurt.

No one was in the garage to see that happen and the expression on my face.
I told my wife and my children don't even know.

At least I finished the repairs on that $10.00 toy truck! Factually speaking, my son was so happy that it was repaired, it kinda calmed me down......

It just blows, simple as that..........

Maybe the mods should start a separate section for screw-ups like mine, so we could go to the crying section and pour it all out.....

:( ugh bet you had a stomache ache after that one. I had UPS gorillas drop off a brand new G07. It looked like someone dropped a stick of dynamite in, closed the box and ran. Took months for them to pay up too.

Ouch, but welcome to the club

Save your yoke, isnt the 6100 tube the same as one of the WG raster tubes? k7000 or 4900?

May this serve as a reminder to us all that we never know what the future may hold. We should all let our 6100s know how much we love them because tomorrow could be too late. :'(

On the bright side this is a perfect excuse to upgrade to a Amplifone (depending on what game it's for I guess). But that wouldn't be a $10 toy by any means. :D
