Aside from those that were lucky enough to work in an actual arcade, who among us worked someplace like a restaurant, convenience store, hotel, that had just a few or maybe only one arcade game?

For me, it was my first job... I was a bag boy at Food Lion. They had a Ghosts N Goblins in a Stargate cab that occupied most of my break time.

I never did, except for working for an operator. On that job though I hardly ever played the games because I'd never go home if I did. I'd play them if I had to test them or something.

I used to manage a pizza place that had a couple throwaway games (like vs. rbi) and a Bride of Pinbot pinball. I put so much money in the game I probably could've bought my own...

I never had one at the job.. but dam close. One of my first sysadmin gigs was working at a bell data center which was 2 mins from the mall. I used to hit the food court daily for lunch and then 3 or 4 games of hydro thunder in the small arcade they had in the mall before heading back to work.

Good times:)

I've only had one job that didnt have anything to do with games, installing and selling car audio gear. All of my other jobs have been in arcades, distributors, amusement parks or working for operators.

Guess you could say I've had a lot of fun in my work life so far!

I ran batting cages and we had some games and some pins. We also had a huge slot car track you could drive by the hour or whatever. Miss that job but it was when I was younger so I got paid crap.

I do work in many different locations. A few of these have had break rooms with games. I recall one place had a gauntlet legends and more recently I worked at an office building where there was a DK and an NBA jam. I was told at one time there were a lot more there. I guess the owner of the company collects. They were a firm that did product promotions. I recall they did stuff for campbell soup and something for I am legend as well.

I worked at Big Lots when I was in High School, we had a RoadBlasters upright. 12 years later, I had one in my basement, always loved that game and still do. But I ended up selling it to make room for Tron.

I worked at Williams, so I had one standing next to my desk, does that count?? :D

We also had them in the break rooms, conference rooms, hallways, ....

When I was a teenager I worked at a laundromat that had a Capcom Bowling machine and Battle Shark. Neither game interested me at first, but I ended up playing both of them out of boredom, and I got pretty good at both of them too. My highest score on Capcom Bowling was 270-something, and I beat Battle Shark on one quarter many times. There was a pinball machine in there too, but I was never into pinball, so I rarely played that.

The laundromat was in a plaza and there was a drug store in the same plaza with a mini-arcade (LaVerdiere's Action Family Arcade) in the back, which had about 10 machines, including the then-new Street Fighter II, which I got hooked on. It also had Punch-Out for a while, which was awesome because that was a favorite of mine from when I was 9 years old, and it was the first time I had gotten to play it in about 7 years. Other games I remember being there include Double Dragon and Final Fight.

Worked in a lot of bars so I've seen alot of games where I work. Usually just Golden Tee's and bartops. Although, the place I bartend currently at has a Buck Hunter Pro pin, a Megatouch, A bowler, some arcade classics multi with Centipede, Millipede, and Missle Command in it, an old school shuffleboard, a reunion multi with Ms. Pac and Galaga. And tucked away upstairs in the private party room is a Donkey Kong with very dim screen and no side art but playable and damn near perfect condition cabinet. No one ever plays it and I'm working on a strategy of getting it off the owner at a cheap price.

We used to have lots of them all over our corporate headquarters campus. They were in break rooms, hallways, etc. Heck, there even used to be a row of them on an elevated indoor walkway that connected 2 of our buildings. Unfortunately, corporate security & the fire marshall had them removed from there.

There are still some around whenever I go to our corporate HQ campus. I'm sure many of the other campus locations have them as well.

For me, the best thing was the time I was in a team and our manager had a passion for gaming. He purchased the original Unreal Tournament for everyone's PC, ensured we all had a good enough video card to run it, and then we had Friday afternoon LAN gaming. We ran our own dedicated server off one of our older lab machines and everyone sat in their office fragging each other and screaming into the Game Voice headsets. Good times...

I worked at a Round Table Pizza several years back which had a Neo Geo 4-slot I used to dump quarters into. Mostly played Art of Fighting, Baseball Stars and Metal Slug.

I worked at Fuddruckers restaurant off Lindbergh and Watson in St. Louis for 6 years. They used to have a small arcade area near the restrooms with 3 or 4 arcade games and a claw machine. I really don't remember any of the games they had because those years were 1988 to 1994, very non-classic non memorable games for me during that era.

I worked at Urban Outfitters and we had a Pacman and one other game down in the Men's Lounge. We almost used some of my games but I was afraid they would be abused.

I put this in our lunchroom...
