My game is Soul Edge... I got this for next to nothing as a throw-in with other purchases. I'll play fighting games, but they've never been the things I got back to again and again, I'd always rather play a Golden Age shooter.
The Soul Edge was complete and working with a dim 25" monitor in a Dynamo cab. I just couldn't pass up a solid JAMMA machine, thinking I would just run other JAMMA games or XXX-in-1 on it. Soul Edge was always last to get any love. When there were other things to work on, it languished. It never even made it into the house, just sat in the garage and occasionally powered on to see if it still worked. I bought other JAMMA boards for it and played them instead.
I recently got may gameroom in good enough shape to move it out there and that motivated me to give it a chance... Once I stopped just button mashing and started to learn the nuances of the game, I discovered there is a lot more there than initially meets the eye. Well, Soul Edge finally got some love! It got a good cleaning, a new 27" monitor, and a replacement marquee light.
Its still not perfect, but its now a totally solid and presentable game. I'm also discovering some of my late 20 and early 30-something co-workers gush over that machine when they see it. Its their era, I guess.
I'm so glad I didn't just buy a XXX-in-1 for this like I figured on when I first saw it!
