Ever want a game so bad and you havent played it?

Correction, 360. And I haven't the money for a 360. Especially after blowing $450 on another rare shmup and promptly frying the main board :(

I'd rather have a board anyway. You know that feeling, right?

ah yea I figured you knew I meant 360 LOL, I have the limited edition US version, I can 1cc the game now but im trying to get through on all 3's.. its tough..

Frying a board sucks but on a rare shmup im sure its worse!

3P Rampart. Never saw it in the arcades nor played any of its console incarnations. Looked interesting from the pix and game description... Then I read someone's gushing review of the game and took the plunge. One of the best arcade purchases I have ever made. Love this game.

Since I first saw TX-1 in a book I wanted one. What's better than Pole Position? Pole Position with THREE monitors. Also in my fantasy it works. ;)

Bubble Bobble was on that list until I went to Ground Kontrol and they had one.

I'll just fill in every Atari/Kee Games game up until Asteroids. Make that every B&W game until Asteroids. Plenty of interesting titles like those goofy 8 player cabinets, Tank, Stunt Cycle, etc.

TRON...believe it or not ive never played it. Always wanted one basically cause of how cool it looked. Maybe someday??

Deathsmiles... I have played (and LOVED) Dodonpachi and Ketsui and I know what Cave is capable of, plus I like the theme, so it's not completely unjustified.

You can play it on the iPhone, iPad and Xbox360. The xbox version can be had relatively CHEAP ($19 or so pre-owned, or $29.99 NEW) at any GameStop. It is a cool game and (as with Espgaluda 2 and DoDonPachi) works very well on the "I" devices due to the degree of accuracy that the touch screen controls delivers...

Oh, and I suppose for me, the answer would be an Ice Cold Beer machine...

Raiden II.

I've played it now, but as a kid I saw it in a pizza place once but didn't get to play it due to either lack of quarters or parents. I was about 10 at the time and it looked like the coolest game ever, as before this I had only played crappy atari/NES shumps and older arcade versions like 1943. Raiden was on a whole different level than those and the animation and effects were top notch, plus you can't beat giant twisty purple laser.

Well turns out its really not available on any home systems, it's (at the time) not emulated in any emulator I could find and its old news now, so good luck playing it in an arcade.

I finally find a Windows version and played the shit out of it and love it to death, it's probably still one of my favorite shooters. I did finally get to play an arcade version, Musee Mechanique in San Francisco has an original Raiden II cab so I got to finally play it in an arcade...about 16 years after I originally wanted to. Eventually I'll have a vertical monitor cab and get the PCB version but for right now I'll stick with the windows version. Maybe an Egret cab will land in my apartment eventually and I'll dish out the cash for one.

Could I plug it into a Pacman/Galaga Reunion cocktail and see if one of the 4 start buttons works as "bomb".....I may have to try.

That sucks... I make a point of not owning anything made by Apple. I hate their technology, I hate their customer-facing policies, and I ESPECIALLY hate their walled-garden attitude. My current cell is a Droid-branded Moto Milestone that I love to death. My next phone is up in the air, but one thing's for sure, it will also sport the green robot. And if I get a tablet, that will too.

If Cave ever stops by the Market, my money will be ready.

I wanted to hate Apple. My wife wanted a tablet for mothers day. My first choices were the Xoom and Galaxy. We checked them both out, then the iPad... The iPad was so much more impressive that I caved and bought it. There is a reason they're selling 24 of them for every Xoom... Its that much better.

I thought tablets were stupid, but I use the thing more than she does. Zero boot time, thousands of games for a buck each (including stuff like Tempest that looks great on it), streams Netflix, HBO and other services. You know somethings good when you want to hate it and can't.

My main drive for wanting coin-ops is that back in the day I would very rarely have money to play them. My parents were not the type to just give me money to play, so I was constantly watching attract modes. Most of the time I would get to play once or twice. DK was like that. I vividly remember playing a DK Jr. cocktail, and immediately dying. Same thing with Dragon's Lair.

By the late 80s and early 90s I had my own money so I played a lot of those games (Vs. Super Mario, Golden Axe, TMNT, Ninja Gaiden, Ghosts & Goblins, Rolling Thunder, etc.) I have much less interest in those games because I got my time on them. It's the ones I never got to play that I really drove me to this "hobby".

I bought several classics that I had never played. Tron, DOT, and DK. Love(d) them all.

My current desire to own despite never playing is the Dragons Lair series.

I didn't realize the guy that runs turbosub.com lives in Houston. I assume you have a working turbosub? There's a game I'd love to play someday.

Hi Sandmanx,

I've got all the pieces for Turbosub, hopefully soon I'll get every put together in a cabinet in the next few months. Also have all parts for Bouncer except the ROMS...... anyone :)

I wanted a Space Ace after only playing it on my iPhone/PS3. Then I played it at CAX and confirmed that I definitely want one.
