Ever seen this? Galaxian Hardware running centipede?

Some friends recently bought some boards and I was browsing through them to check titles. Found two Galaxian boards and I chuckled out loud when one of them had a sticker labeled "cenapeed". We decided to test several of the boards and when we plugged in the "cenapeed" it ALMOST worked, and it is definitely playing centipede. Definitely started life as a Galaxian, and still has the satellite board with ROMS, and the two lower Proms. We can't find any hacks or cut traces. You can see the centipede, the shooter (which happens to be a fly) and the wierd bettle thing instead of a spider. The colors are quite a bit different, and the characters are noticably changed. Another friend is taking a crack at repairing the pcb, since there are H's all over the open areas, but I just wondered if anyone has seen this hack? Long ago, I found a galaxian board that played pac man, and it was interesting. Didn't have the same sound, graphic qualities, but sure did play.

Anyway, share your thoughts!

Thanks

Sure have. That's War Of The Bugs.

I have an NOS marquee for that game, plus a NOS PCB that's never been powered up before. It's the only PCB I have that's not in a cabinet!

Kind of fun on MAME. Weird. I think it was British...

As Brett and I were tinkering with that board my first thought was a port to Pac hardware on the 96 in 1, but then I remembered the sprite count :-(

Pac hardware would totally choke on that game.

Would love to get the code for that and add it to a multi-galaxian.

Bill
