As my collection keeps growing. i keep saying to my self this is going to be the last one. but its never true. i keep finding other games that id like to own.
when does it stop. its like a sickness. i think my wife might kill me if i buy another.
just cant stop.

Well there will always be a few I want but for the most part I have the bulk of what I want to own now. I do however want to off load a few cabinets though.

Damn, dude! With the Don Bluth trilogy, DK, and the SW pin, how can you not be satisfied?!? :)

Hahaha... so true. :)

For me, I just kept getting games until I ran out of room. I think I've owned 14 different games in 2 or 3 years and my basement capacity is about 10. But I hated always working on the games because something wasn't working and never getting to play them. So I am now down to 3 vids and a pin. 1 of the vids I will eventully trade out but I'm holding out for when the local amusement place in town will finally take their Monkey Ball game off of the floor and sell it to me. :) Other than that I found that a lot of games that I picked up I would play a lot for awhile then just ignore. The games I have now I continue to enjoy. And I will have to buy at least 1 more pin but it will be awhile before I can afford a TAF.

I gave up on telling myself that years ago, but I go at a healthy enough pace for it to be alright. The closest I've bought two games together was a span of six months, usually I get one a year. I'm always extremely specific and go for only the game that I want at any given time... but I usually don't want to pay shipping, so in the end I wait for something to pop up within a six hour radius. That's harder than it sounds and sometimes I overpay out of desperation, but I get enough incredible deals the same way that it all evens out. I'm happy with my collection, very satisfied, even, but I always find room for another. I don't see the point of ceasing activity with a hobby, at that point doesn't it become a memory?

Also, I'm a sentimental freak and obsessed with every game I have, so I never sell games to make room or cash for more... that's all done the old fashioned way. That's probably why I'm able to avoid impulse buys, heheh.

Im never happy

I always tell myself, that ill have 20 pins when im done....All Dmd pins, and 4 arcade machines

I've had about 80-90 different games over the last 8 years, im getting pretty close to being satisfied. Have a few i am looking for (NBA Jam, Demolition Derby, World Series), but i am a sucker for a good deal, then i play it a few months, resell it, and try to upgrade.

For now I am. I want a Quantum so bad it hurts but that might never happen. After I get a Quantum (or when I move to a bigger house), I want to get a Berzerk and some Williams games: Moon Patrol, Joust, & Robotron. After that I don't know what, probably pinballs.

come to terms with the sickness. Eventually you'll learn that it is out of your hands..

Start making great excuses like "At least I don't spend the money on Alcohol."

Or it could be a race car... or harley.

I said I was going to stop collecting several times... I have learned not to say it out loud. Now people don't give near as much crap for picking them up.

Overall I'm very happy/satisfied with the games I have. However sometimes a game will come along for cheap like my Blasteroids did earlier this summer. When something's so cheap or even free it's hard to say no if you can find room. :)

There's so many game I like that I will never have room to own them all. Although I'm relatively content with the line up I have. Of course there are always games I love that pop up and I want to buy them.

I am happy with what I have now, but like everyone, if the right game popped up (Space Wars, cough, cough, Arizona or neighboring states) then I would switch one or two out...

So... Is spending money on alcohol a bad thing???

I have a short list of games that I am still on the lookout for but after doing this for 10 years I am pretty satisfied with a smaller more streamlined collection. I had upwards of 25 machines at any given time at my peak. Now I am just about down to 12 which is a nice manageable number.

I used to be all over curiosities, basket cases, and 'rare' games but I don't mess with them any more unless its something I have played before and really want to keep for the long term.

I am I satisfied? Hell no! I think I will be satisfied (maybe) when my personal arcade rivals or exceeds many of the incredible ones I've seen on here.A lot of the pictures I have seen from fellow klover's arcades are extremely inspiring. :D It's like you see their setup and say..."Holy crap...that's what I want my setup to look like!"

Nope. My arcade collection is a bare minimum these days due to space constraints (real estate is pricey in NYC!). I'm down to a multiwilliams and a multi cocktail. Games I definitely want to own someday (after a move, most likely) include Lost Tomb and Asteroids Deluxe (I used to own these), Black Widow, maybe a Space Duel or Tempest. The multi's handle many of my classic arcade faves well enough, and I'm not a big fan of fighters; I like racing games but have my fill of those on home consoles.

Things are more desperate on the pinball side. I really like the 4 pins I have now (3 DMDs and an EM) but I am constantly evolving a list of pins I really want to own some day. I haven't written it down, but I estimate there are about 15-20 on the list.

I'm 95% satisfied with my collection right now, which has been about a dozen games for the past few years, little turnover. I have all the games I really feel I had to have. I might add a couple more over time, but it's not bugging me. Most of what I want now is related to the room/decor itself, not the games. And, I'd really like to get a pin or two back in the gameroom, but that'll have to wait.

I think that the big thing is just getting the right attitude, and realizing that you can't own EVERY game you've ever wanted. And some games you think you need, turn out to be not as interesting as you remember, so they aren't truly keepers any more.

It's so hard to get games in and out of my gameroom, that it helped me to realize that I needed to stick to my true "short list" of games, and stop picking up games because they're cheap/rare/nearby/convenient. This made a huge difference. It's not hard to pass on 99% of the games you find if you're looking for your most wanted games in the right condition.

I am finally to a point where room is becoming an issue so I have started selling off my lesser played titles for better ones or grails. I am slowly becoming more and more satisfied as the better titles come along.
