Well did you?....you know...cut class or just plain skip school?....I did on "sports day" in 7th grade....good ol waste of time sports day...where the athletically gifted got to make those not able to high jump/long jump/shot put etc look bad and feel superior about it in the form of really gay looking ribbons.I got an offer I could not refuse....the offer being that a friend of mine had $20 and said "let's go"....so of course I did....was having a blast...the place was empty and we had 80 qaurters between us.....was just really getting into a game of Joust when I felt the firm hand of my father grab me by the neck and haul my adolecent school skipping ass outside where he freaked on me.....I responded with the logical reply of "It's the last day of fricken school and the only thing I am missing out on is a bunch of gay sports day ribbons that you wont give a rats ass about if I came home with them"....this response caused my dad to give pause and actually think about what I said....and after some thought....while he did not apologise to me for dragging me outside(and killing my game) he kind of let it go....and let me go back inside.

We had an arcade for a few months when I was 16. It got closed down because way too many of us forgot to go back to school after lunch. :)

The PD liked to go to the arcades in town and look for truant kids.

That was the wrong place to go if you were skipping school.

YES of course. We had a arcade that opened up,caddie corner to my high school when I was in 10th grade.Satans hollow was the game that took my lunch money. It was proably english class that i ditched. Thats why I can spell and type so well.

Couldn't do that where I live. The arcade in the mall we used to go to had a "no kids during school hours" policy, and they'd toss your a$$ out!

One arcade tried that on me when I was visiting Calgary from BC.....showed the guy my school t-shirt from my school in Revelstoke and he shut up pretty quick LOL

Dozens of times (no kidding). We used to go to Spaceport at Oxford Valley Mall, get thrown out of there by the mall cop and then go to the one at a place called Lincoln Plaza which was like a little mini-mall about 1/4 mile away.

I put the place names in for other locals. I'm sure my buddy and I weren't the only ones doing this. We had another local arcade in a shopping center, but they had sign up that you couldn't be in there on a school day without an adult.

Going to high school in Chicago was fun. I had 2 arcades nearby. One was one block from school. This one had all the latest and greatest arcade games BITD. Never got busted by the cops. The one right across the street had mostly pinball and also have a small area to get fries, pizza puffs, burgers, etc. This is the place that Williams Pinball used to test their pins. That was fun let me tell you. This place got busted alot by the cops.

Well Fresman year I hung out at the arcade down the block before school, at lunch time, and after school. That was a lot of money spent there.

The rest of high school I hung out at the arcade across the street. My 2nd year, I ditched 3 out of the first 5 days of school. I also had 25 tardies I think after that. Totally skipped whatever I had 1st period and part of 2nd period for like the first quarter of school.

The one day the arcade got busted, there were about 10 or so of us in there at the time and 3 cops and a sargent walked in. I was lucky in the sargent was the one that took my info, just name and phone number. The other cops were asking for more and being jerks.

Boy that brought back some great memories. Like when the lady would kill the power 5 minutes before school was to start to get everyone to leave. We would and then come back after 5 minutes. That was crazy. If anyone from Chicago remembers this drop me a line. Of course I am talking about Lane Tech High School.

:D :D

Can't say I ever did, it just wasn't easy to do and get away with... now pretending to be sick so I could stay home and play my home unit, hell yeah!

I never skipped to go to the arcade but I did skip all the time after lunch to go play basketball and swim at my friend's house. His parents just didn't care. We'd go there for a couple of hours a few times a week when the weather was nice and then go back to school for baseball/soccer practice.

Yep. My Uncle tooks us though so it wasn't considered skipping school because he would check me out for an "appt". He just never said it was at the Tilt in the mall.

Some of the cities have really stepped up now and won't let Arcades within a certain distance of a school open for business before school lets out.

Chicago tried something like that BITD. It stated no one under the age of 17 was allowed in an arcade during school hours. Or something like that. It lasted 3-4 days before they nixed the law. :D
