Have you noticed any games that have "overlooked details"? Maybe a character's sprite looks unfinished, or points aren't awarded for doing something risky, or there is no sound effect where there probably should be one?

Here are two I came up with...

(1) Tron. In later gridbugs levels, a Solar Sailor deposits a "bit" on the playfield which is worth 5000 points. But there is no sound when Tron grabs the bit. I would expect a short fanfare, or a sample of the bit from the movie saying "YES!", or at least a beep. But it's totally silent. Weird.

(2) Gunsmoke. The sheriff can eliminate bombs tossed by the mohawk guys by running over them before they explode. There is a short sound effect for this, but no points are awarded at all. As this is a risky maneuver, I'd expect at least a token 50-100 points for risking your life to defuse the bomb.

Anybody have any other overlooked details to add?

I recently finished a 'Gyruss", and got to play it a little bit. I wouldn't say it's unfinished, but the sounds are really strange. The gun sound is realy muted, plus all the spaceships you shoot make different sounds when they explode. So what it does to the sound, is make your bullets almost inaudible, and then when you hit something, it's always a different sound. Really strange. When you've got a ton of stuff going on though it doesn't really matter. Also all the sounds (except the gun) are pretty cool, so they did a pretty good job it's just a strange way of doing it.

The Galaxian Coleco tabletop's sounds are just unbearable... REEEEEEEEEEEEEWW PEEP AREAK!
I think the ghost slowdown areas and the "maze identifier icons'" paths in Ms. Pac-Man Plus is very overlooked. At least there's more to add to my custom instruction card.

Not really what you meant, but what the thread title made me think of:
