As some of you know I like the unique and obscure games.

Well today I picked up a game called Fighter and another one called Uni Wars.

The Fighter cabinet is just plain awesome looking. It's currently not working and locked up with no keys so I'm at a loss as to what it could be.

One strange thing is there is a Rally X instruction card on the back wall leading me to think it might have had the original board replaced but I'll know for sure when I get into the cabinet.

Hard to believe but the original protective plastic is still on the sides of the cabinet as well as the control panel.

The Uni Wars cabinet is also pretty awesome looking.

The one cool thing with that one is the bezel is one big piece that includes the control panel. I have never seen that before.

Anyway, just thought I would share a couple rare cabinets that you have probably never seen before. :)

Those are seriously groovy! I would love to have one of those bizarre style cabs eventually. Awesome find. Are either on MAME yet?

Never heard of Fighter. Uni Wars, I've heard of quite a bit.

Two rare ones for sure - very cool to see pics of em!

I think the Uniwars is a coverted Rally-X

Not a conversion, the coin door is a completely different shape.

The only place I recall seeing/playing a UniWar-S was at a waterpark in the very early 80's. I really liked it then, and occasionally fire it up in mame mainly for nostalgic purposes, but it is not a bad game at all. If you are into the obscurities and frequented the arcades in the heyday you will probably get a kick out of it. Or not.

The Uniwars looks like a bootleg of Galaga from the cabinet style and design. The Fighter looks like a bootleg of Phoenix. But the art on that thing looks like a universal cabinet. Very nice.

The cabinet is shaped like a Galaxian or a Pac-Man. A Galaga/Ms. Pac is similar but slightly differemt in terms of the slope and top.
Edit: Has to be a Galaxian by the CP layout.

This is nothing like that, the light bulb is mounted up inside the top bracket. This is bootleg game in a bootleg cabinet. I saw these personally. While the uniwars resembles a midway cabinet, it isn't.

Edit, also the bezel and control panel is one solid piece of plexi.

Here are some pics of the top of the Uni Wars cabinet to show you what Tighe is talking about.
