I just ordered a reproduction marquee for Area 51 from http://emdkay.net .. Has anyone ever seen their marquees? Are they good quality? I got it for a friend for her to hang on her wall so it didn't have to be perfect. I'm just asking for possible future orders.

When looking to buy something on a new site, I always always always search for feedback. Best thing about computers, imo. Being able to look stuff up. I hope it pans out for you man!

Heh.. I'm trying to impress a girl so hopefully they will come through for me! Hahahaha. Ill give em a call tomorrow and see how long they say it's gonna be. I personally have had not so great experiences with gameongrafix so I figured how bad could it be to try ANYONE else. =)

Sorry to be "that guy" but I've always had great experiences with gameongrafix.

Thisoldgame.com maybe...
Good luck

I normally have my wife print them up for me. They have a banner printer at the party supply place she works at. Hers look terrible compared to a high quality reproduction, but the cost is right for me.

I like gameongrafx (used them about 3 times) and last time I used Arcadeoverlays twice. The guy there is super awesome and I got a custom marquee made and a custom cpo. Both looked great. Had a shipping Issue one time and he resolved it super fast and was apologetic. He will continue to get my business for a very longtime based off quality, speed, andost importantly his level of customer service.

You are taking a chance...

EMDKAY- The owner is arrogant, ships products without checking the size, loosely packages the inferior product in a poorly taped box, and has horrible customer service. There are other places to order from. I would avoid Emdkay.

Just my $.02

I once ordered a marquee from EMDKAY. It took about a month to get here and it looked like poo. It was more pixelated than a NES game!

I've had several made for me by several different companies. The best bang for the buck by far is Rich at This Old Game. His process of reverse printing then laminating the print to the backside of plexi is second only to silk screening in many cases.

This marquee was done that way:

I have ordered from emdkay as well. I thought that they would be able to print a marquee with nice solid blacks that didn't let light through when backlit. We tried a few times to get it right but we never did get things as perfect as I wanted but he did work with me at that time, maybe a year or so ago. I have seen more recent reviews not quite as kind. I must say something nice about Todd at Arcadeoverlays. Superior product, materials and awesome customer service. Nothing but good things to say about Todd.
Good luck!

used oldeschoolarcade on ebay
bought 8 marquees for 60/70 bucks IIRC
ok product, not the best but just fine for what i need

Phet's looks awesome. Way better than what I have my wife print up at work. Use his source.

I ordered the A51 marquee for a friend of mine who will just hang it on her wall (she likes aliens) so size doesn't have to be perfect.. We'll see how it goes.. I'll post back when/if it arrives heh
