Tonight my wife, daughter and I were out in the garcade playing the games. My wife hit a new high score on Asteroids, and unfortunately that's not all she hit..............

As she hit the new high score, she went to jump up in celebration. Only problem is, her height puts her head just below the speaker panel on the game! She jumped for joy and the next sound was a WHAP!!!!!!! She came down holding her head, because she nailed it pretty good!

Just wondered what other folks here have incurred related issues, and if I should seek arcade legal cousel in the event of another incident :D

When I play Tron for long periods of time, I occasionally mess up my right index finger from repeatedly squeezing the trigger. When that happens, I have to lay off for a week or so or it just gets worse. I call it "Tron finger."

And I've told this story a few times, but I peed my pants playing Berzerk when I was 9 or 10. I had to pee really bad, but was having my best game ever, so I didn't stop. When I died (around 20K or so), it just... happened. I was wearing shorts. It was all down my legs and on the floor. Oddly enough, I don't remember being too embarrassed about it at the time. I was more excited about my score than anything else.

jim, i thought you meant arcade games having a casualty. so in your sense, no. in the arcade game sense, yes. i was moving a super breakout i used to have and strapped it real tight to a dolly. when i hit the step into my house from my garage the cab separated in half.

I was playing some pinball and I turned really quick and my knee popped out and I fell to the ground like a ton of bricks. Everyone was laughing because I got hurt playing Pin. It comes out every once in awhile now. Sad huh!!

Due to the odd way I wrap my hand around the joystick, my middle finger gets sore and would eventually blister from playing more than a couple intense games of Ms. Pacman in a sitting!! That's why I tend to stick to Centipede.

Hahaha I have hit my head on my Asteroids many times. Usually its when I am walking up to it. "Hum de dum....*boink*...ow..."

Too bad you didn't have a camera rolling, that has $10K funniest home video potential for sure!! :) Glad she's ok!

When I fixed the monitor on Frogger (It had been messed up for a few months) , I was so excited that I jumped up and hit a small ledge that sticks out of the ceiling. It put a nice gash in my eyebrow that took a few weeks to heal and that left a scar.

BITD, we used to get Defender callouses on our fingers from where they rubbed on the CP while you were moving the josytick up and down. One mate's first finger even took on a bit of a kink from where he wrapped it around the joystick.

Callouses are the worst injury I ever suffered, though I did risk electrocution once for a high score. There was a massage parlour (ie, brothel) on the floor above the arcade we went to, and their hot tub started leaking. Water was pouring through the roof and all over the machines. The operator turned them all off and kicked everyone out, but I wouldn't leave because I was getting a new personal high score. I had to wipe the water off the screen in between attack waves, but I got my score.

Well, that still does qualify :D

I walked off the back of a dock high liftgate truck with a MsPac/Galaga. It was the day before Halloween so the blood in my hair and staples in my scalp made for a perfect start to a costume!

when my little boy was about 3, he was standing on a folding chair while playing big event golf...he spun the trackball so hard that he lost his footing and slipped off the front of the chair, hitting his mouth on the control panel on the way down and putting his top front teeth through his bottom lip....lots of screaming and crying and gushing blood, but as soon as the bleeding stopped, he wanted to go play it again

Lots of injuries. Just today I smashed my fingers trying to get a Cruisn' World through a damn door.

A year or so ago I was attempting to get some big ass heavy cab (maybe Centipede) into the truck (standing upright) and was having a hard time getting it to slide back while I was on the ground. I jumped up onto the tailgate, and as I stood up I nailed my head on the bottom of the marquee area. I hit it hard enough to make the machine rock, and I had to hold onto it for a while to keep from falling out of the truck.

This happened about 1pm, and I went back to work, knowing I had a bump on my head. After work, I headed out to a local bar to play pool with some friends, and was there until about 10pm. Afterwards, I went home, walked in the door, and my wife immediately said, "What happened to your forehead?" I figured she could see the bump, but walked into the bathroom to check it out in the mirror. I then saw I had about a 4" line of dried blood that had run down my forehead to right above my eye. Nobody at work and nobody at the bar said anything to me about it. I asked them later, and they said, "I just figured you knew that already..."
