i do. my recent tempest that i rebuilt, i tinned and replaced one finger on the pcb, and the y lin pot that was bad. ever since then, i get paranoid that i somehow magically did something wrong and have pulled it out 4-5 times to make sure the edge connectors are tight and voltage is good, even though they are. some reason i just doubt myself on repairs, even though everything works ok.

funny thing is, when i've done a repair or something on someone else's game, i don't think twice, and am confident in what i've done. just weird how it works.

anyone else like this?

Every time I look at a machine, I think of what I've done to it and all the crap that could potentially go wrong.

Not because I've intentionally half-assed anything, its that that once you've fondled the machines guts, I don't think what you did can be unseen! :D

yeah. it's like even though i know it's ok, i get a paranoia that something's gonna break. just wish i could figure out why i do this.

I think about it a lot when someone else is playing the games. If I'm just messing around in there by myself, I don't think about it as much.

I've never had a machine crap out on someone, but I can't help but thinking about it.

I get paranoid untill the first power up, as long as everything still works as good as before i messed with it i'm content. I don't do a ton of board repairs (more than eprom swaps) but i do make a lot of wiring repairs. granted there isn't as much that can go wrong like with pcb repairs but i still worry untill that initial boot up. I make sure my repairs are as good if not better than how a professional repair guy would.

i guess you can say i'm ocd about how clean/professional my repair looks.
