Not that I don't want it, but at some point I am going to have to stop picking up Galaxians.

I just recently picked up my third one because I could not pass up the deal. It is in decent shape but all the artwork has been painted over (I still don't get why people think a sloppy coat of black paint will look better than faded artwork). The cabinet is solid with no water damage, it plays fine, and it was only 75 bucks.

The fact that I already have two of them did not stop me. I felt I had to buy it. :D

Anybody else ever buy stuff because the deal is too good to pass up?

A decent number of games in my collection are that way. I guess I can't say I really *need* any games, but there are some instances where it was a good deal I couldn't resist. My DK mini and Asteroids cocktail are examples because I had the upright version of each game prior to getting them. My Blasteroids was a $50 garage sale find and I bought it even though I didn't really care for the game. I also had an instance where a game was part of bulk deal and even though I didn't want it, I took it just to get the other game.

:) :) I am always buying games I don't need... that's the definition of "hobby" is it not? :) :)

But seriously I know what your are getting at... I think its common for many folks to get on the "buy" habit and before you know it you have a bunch of one type or many different games you really are not going to play that much. I've started to put an absolute limit on the number of games in the game room... I'm not going to try and cram stuff in just for the sake of getting more... this helps keep me honest about what I truly want to collect... and everyone else in the house happy ;)

Only once in 15 years of collecting, I bought a Missile Command at a garage sale for $120 when I already owned one and immediately turned around and traded it for a Q*Bert. WIN! :)

What happened to the Q*bert?

LOSE!

No. If I see a really good deal on something I don't want I let it pass to someone who might actually want it. No reason to own a game you don't like just to have it, or because its rare or something. And I don't flip games.

Midway SI Cocktail. Refurbished inside, not a speck of dust inside or out and perfect monitor, but flaking like mad on bezel and a couple of busted spots on the wood where it looks like a stud extended through the woodgrain. Don't know what possessed me to think 200 for it was a deal I couldn't pass up, but something did. SO MONOTONOUS, that game. I just really wanted a cocktail I guess but then I turn around and my friend hands me a free, working DK Jr. cocktail. Just how it goes I guess, haha.

Nope. I don't pay money for anything I don't want to keep, unless it is so ridiculously under-priced that I know I can flip it for major profit pretty easily.

Now, I have lots of stuff I don't want GIVEN to me. It usually gets traded away for other stuff, although i occasionally give something to a couple buddies if I decide I don't want to look at it anymore...

I bought a broken bally/sega bull fight:
1: to save it.
2: fix it and take it to CAX.
3: play it again. Had not seen one in about 20 years.
4: I was going to be in LA anyways..

Did not really want it. Don't really need it.. Hopefully I can find it a good home..

Only game I have ever bought that I have never played and didn't really want.
A Primal Rage, that needs a new power supply.

Thought was multiple-jamma fighters...

+ 1 million. Especially if you already have multiples of the same game at home already. Give someone else a chance!
