Ever accidentally find something in your own hoard?

So, I've been looking for a back door for my Super Pac cab for a little over a year.. Didn't feel like making one, couldn't find one anywhere.... Until last night. While playing a game of Pacman , the top of an unused door caught my eye. Picked it up with a few cabs many years ago.. I noticed a slight blue on the top lip under the green... Hmm.. Grabbed the remaining chunk I have of the kicked in Super Pac door... Top matched. Turned the cab around, and it fit!!!

Had that door for at least 8 years, probably closer to 10.

Anyone have anything like that happen?

that's a good ending at least. its bad when you're looking for something you swore you had and can't find it, then buy another, only to find the first one shortly after the new one arrives.

hehe yup that too!! Its all part of the fun i guess. Ive been trying for years now to get all my parts up int he attic over my garage and get it all organzed.. but i keep adding more stuff to put away, and i dont get up there too often.. so yeah its a mess

I once came across a perfectly sized smoked plexi that replaced a clear, badly scratched one I had on a Hogan's Alley. It "fixed" the screen burn and worked fine, and I had forgotten I even had it.

I once saw a CL ad for a game I was kinda interested in buying. I wasn't 100% set on buying it but was considering it. While I was pondering weather to purchase or not I popped the garage and was digging through the random crap when I decided to climb a top one of the games to get a better look at what was behind one of them or between a couple of them. From the top I had a better view of all the games in the garage and that's when I noticed that I actually already owned the game I was considering buying but had forgot I already had it.

Happens all the time. I went looking for a board I was sure I had, and found 2 SmashTV boards when I would have swaorn I sold the last one off 6 months ago. Sitting right next to 2 TMNT boards that I don't remember buying.....

That's when I blame Alzheimer's.

Ha!!! That is good. That's why I keep a spreed sheet of my storage units.

Not exactly arcade related but gaming horde at least.
I found a new in box xbox 360 in my bedroom under my bed. Apparently Walmart had a steal of a sale and I picked one up as backup!

Gate of Doom PCB. Bumped into it a couple years ago and forgot I had it. I had picked it up in a bulk purchase when I first started in the 90's. During the whole "wanna buy everything arcade related" stage everyone goes through when they first get into this hobby.

i didn't think i had a replacement bridge rectifier for this Firepower pinball i'm working on so i was about to order one from Bob. then i was digging through my "electrical stuff" bin to check how many #44 lamps i have for said pin and low and behold, there was a bridge rectifier that would work!

it probably came from an Atari game that i was trying to fix a hum on, and installing in a new one didn't fix the hum so i kept the old one but of course completely forgot it about it several years later.

i went ahead and ordered another one from Bob anyway, now that i know they're handy to have sitting around. more hoarding!
