Ok I got this and it seems most of the parts work, The machine is set to free play, you can enter a selection and it will grab the record and drop it on the turn table, but the turntable never starts and all there is is a loud hum...HMMMM

So if I move the record to the end, it will put it back and get the next selection...

Heres what I have done so far:

Checked all the fuses, when the 1 amp slo blow fuse is removed, the unit acts the same way, just no hum....so I think that narrows it to the amplifier control box.

I removed the control box and inspected it, nothing major is evident, all the soldering looks good, so far so good.

I need to find an outlet for slo blo fuses...I need some for my other juke.

I would like to know if there are some compatible parts I could use, what other models may have the parts I need?

Next idea is to open the back and check the turntable belt?

Is the turntable motor turning? Is the sound coming from the speakers or something inside, say, near the turntable...

Turn table does not move, it lifts the needle and when the sound come on nothing happens but a loud hum....I can move the arm to the end of the record and it will finish and put the record away and select a new one, but won't turn or play.

Thanks for that help, I had not tried moving the player and it was kinda stuck...gave a spin and it turned, now she plays but still hvae the hum and no real sound yet, turntable seems to be moving too slow

OK I took off the turntable cover and lubed the gears, seems to be playing better now...

Still not playing some selected tunes...

On a funny note, I don't know where this unit used to be located, it was filled with POLKA music, I did not know thay made so many polka 45's...so I went down to the thrift shop and got a few 45's and she's rocking now...

Must have been from Wisconsin.
You can't swing a dead cat without knocking over a pile of old polka records up here.

I'd suggest you find a manual and hit all the lube points.
Go over the whole machine before other problems develop. (The old grease drys out and turns to paste)

RockOlas are solid machines but they do need to be kept maintained.

LOL love the joke....

I still have a loud hum when the speakers turn on....

I did lube the turntable and all the gears I could see...

She's playing right now...but I still have that hum when the speakers kick in...any ideas?
