EPROM Programmers

Where do you get your blank eproms from?

Also got one of these myself recently.

It has worked well enough, but I did have a problem installing the software on my computer running Windows 7. It installed just fine on my wife's machine that runs Vista.

But from what I've found out, I seem to be the only one who had the software glitch as others don't seem to have this problem. I haven't had time lately to fix the problem and have just used my wife's machine as need be...

It seems to burn almost all of the chips I've needed so far with the only exception being the TMS2732 chips (other 2732 chips are OK).

So I do recommend it for a low-cost burner that seems to do the job for most of chips the usual classic gamer would need :) .

I have several burners but I use the GX4 as my primary burner. Its a great burner for the price. Dont forget to pick up an eraser to go with it.
I sell blank eproms on my site if your looking.

The description says it supports these operating systems: Support O/S XP32bit 64bit, Vista 32bit,Vista 64bit.

So I wouldn't expect it to run with Windows 7.

Would the GQ-4X be good for burning roms for NES,SNES,VS, and Playchoice games? And how about roms for Tron and DOT pcbs?

I have a Needhams EMP-20 really easy to use and just an all around awesome programmer. Your going to need an old computer though to hook it up. I have mine on a gateway solo laptop model 2500.

Here's one for $20 buy it now working plus $19.99 shipping.

The computer is great for just burning eproms not much use otherwise LOL. Just make sure you have that model programmer cant say what else it will work with but it has the old ass printer port connection you need for the EMP-20.

I just upgraded my PC from XP to Win7 and I have had no software compatibility issues to speak of. Im running some real old software too. I havent tried my burners with it yet but will be in the next week or so. So far im really liking win7.

I bought that computer. Thanks for the link!

I use the GQ-4X as well. Love it. It gives me an excuse to keep this old POS Dell Latitude laying around.
