Yeah, I know, this thread has been done to death, but I need something specific.

I already have an excellent EPROM programmer that does everything I could want... except 27c160's. Despite my best efforts in creating an adapter, I cannot get 27c160's to program reliably - at least, not the older ones with the large die. The later ones seem to be less sensitive to the timing mismatch and I can program those OK. Similarly, I can program any 27c322 just fine with my homemade adapter.

Anyway, all I care about is being able to program 27c160's.

Ideally, I want something with software that can run under DOS, or something that is self-contained and reads data from a serial port or something. I don't have anything that runs Windows, and I'd rather not start. :D

16 Meg, 16 bit chip with a DOS based programmer? Not asking for much there... ;)

Check out the older programmers at eetools.com to see if they'll do it. I use the TopMax, but it's Windows based and uses a parallel port. It's reliable and will do the 16Mb and 32Mb chips just fine.

Hehe, yeah, I know.

Well, I figured I'd see what exists already before I start soldering up a piece of perf-board with 4040's and a couple of transistors and bash together some ugly C code to fire off bits through the parallel port :D
