Whenever I pull a rom from a board and try to verify it comes up with a fail. But if I read the rom, save that file and upload to romident, it still shows me the correct rom. So I have a few questions.
1) Can a rom still be bad even if romident can determine the correct rom
2) I'm using a GX3Q with usb for power. Should I be plugging it into an outlet to ensure the correct power to read and write roms?
3) Even setting up the programmer with the correct chip number (and trying multiple variants) is it not verifying because it's a bad chip?
I don't have MAME to verify against as it's a company computer, hence why I'm using romident.
HELP!
