I guess it's time to invest in a ROM burner. What is the best bang for the buck unit out there? I wanna test my Paperboy ROMS... and tend to work with 1979-1990 year machines mostly...

Suggestions?

Is the full kit worth the extra dough?
I didn't get the full kit and have done fine so far. The only thing I wish I had was the external power supply since some chips need a little extra power not provided by the usb interface. I've never had a need for any adapters though. Just my 2 cents, but maybe someone thinks the extra stuff would be worth having.

Can a normal black light work as an eraser?

Also can someone write up a little "how to" on the subject? I was looking at old posts last night and found this unit recommended.

I would like to know how much the chips cost and where people get them from? I too am looking to mainly burn VS chips.

How long the process takes? Any other information that a "never touched or thought about using a chip burner" person might need to know.

DITTO i burned some Star Castle Roms with mine so far.....

I have the GQ-4X as well and is straight forward and easy to use. Just make sure you get a power supply if you want to burn higher voltage eeproms. I did buy the full pack one and have yet to use the extras yet but I figure it is worth it just in case I ever do.
