The 19 and 3 aren't sensing any darts or taps. The dart head assembly is nos i including the matrix and the board mounted on the back of it. It also came with 2 chips that it said to swap out as well. i changed the removable chip but the one that needs to be soldered in i haven't yet. other then that every thing else on the machine works great.

any ideas on what i should check or do i just have a bad nos matrix?

ok i wasnt sure if that chip would do anything ill work on it tonight and see what happens.

Doe's anyone know where I can find a replacement 3.3k resistor network chip for U6? I just bought this machine, it has the new super spider & matrix, but it does not have this updated chip installed. It also still has the chip at U5, so I need to remove that, but does a new one go in it's place, or do I just leave that one blank? I do have the original 3.0 EPROM located at U15, but it is dated 1992. Does this matter?

Any help would be appreciated. I'd love to get this one going.

Got in touch with Arachnid. They have informed me that the U6 network chip can be obtained thru Mouser, part #4116R-1-332. I have it on order along with the #658 lamps for the buttons and will update once I get everything installed.

Got the new chip in at U6 and removed U5. Improved, but still didn't score some segments. Turns out the newer matrix is bad. The old one is now scoring all segments. So seems like it's fixed. My question now is which side of the matrix should the pad be mounted? Right now I have it between the matrix and back board, is this correct?

its been so long since ive had one fo those apart that i honestly dont remember.

I wnt to say its segments, pad . switch matrix, backboard wood

If its scoring properly now, its most likely correct.

I think that's how I have it now.

In order:

Spider with Segments, Damper pad, switch matrix, wooden backer.

And Yes looking at the picture of the logic board you have, it looks identical to a spare I have that works fine so I would figure that either your switch matrix was bad or the target interface board was bad. In the manual it describes a procedure to test the target interface board using jumpers to verify that its functioning properly.

oh one more thought. make sure those 4 retaining nuts are just barely hand tight. Overtightening with tools can cause issues too.
