Hi All
I picked up a Sega Enduro Racer and everything but the steering seems to work.
When I checked I found the POT was removed. I bought another "working" controlpanel and found it too had the POT removed (3 wires were cut on both CP's Red-Blue-Black)

I do have a Control Panel for a Sega Hang-ON. From my reading it seems the EnduroRacer was the same system as HangOn except for adding a switch to pull up.
Would the POT for steering on the HangOn work for steering on an EnduroRacer????

The HangOn POT also has 3 wires(like EnduroRacer) but the colors are Red-Blue-Brown
I know how a switch works by just making an on/off connection, but not sure about a POT since it has to have different values as it turns.

Basically I need to know if I can use the POT from the HangON on the EnduroRacer, and if the pot would connect the same (except Black=Brown)

Here are pictures (not the best)

the pot should work ok...just check the schematics to see how the wires should attach to it...

OK I'll try, I don't have schematics for either game. I'll see if I can find them with a google search.
But would think the Red and Blue wires would be the same on both games, and that the Brown on HangOn was just changed to a Black wire on Enduro.

I really don't understand a "potentiometer" so don't know how I would test wires/voltages to see if it would work without an Enduro POT to compare.

EDIT: Thought I had posted this last night but just found the window open and hadn't clicked submit

Found both schematics, they are a bit tough to read. I'll post a jpg below if anyone understands them.
But found both games use a 5k ohm "volume control" (potentiometer)
But neither manual seems to say what colors the wires are.

Can I just connect it with

HangOn -> Enduro
Blue -> Blue
Red -> Red
Brown -> Black

Or could I short something out if that is wrong?

If there is anyone out there with an Enduro Racer game, could you look at how the wires are on the steering POT? Is it like the 2nd picture in my first post except a Black wire instead of Brown?? Or please just take a picture of it for me???

Doesn't anyone have a Sega Enduro Racer, or a Control panel?

I only need to connect the steering "Volume control" (potentiometer) to have this working and just need a picture of where the wires go.
Or maybe someone that knows schematics better than me can figure it out by what wire connect at the molex connectors...

Thanks

Hello.

I'm trying to convert an Enduro Racer to play on my Jamma cabinet, but I need some help (I'm offering also some).

You must identify with of the 3 legs of the potentiometer is the "cursor" - usually the central one. Using a multimeter wich ohm function is easy. The cursor is the pin marked as "2" on the schematics, on the potentiometer labeled as "wheele" or "handle" (this is my further question).

You can connect the other two legs of the potentiometer the way you want. If you choose the wrong way probably the bike will turn in the opposite sense you're turning the steering. No risk at all of damaging the board. Just exchange the wires.

And now my question. I'm trying to find the Enduro Racer schematics without success. I've seen the picture posted by MundoMan4, and have a couple of questions:

- Which pot controls the turning angle, the one labeled as "wheele" or the labeled as "handle"?
- I don't see a switch which could control the jump. Maybe this is not controlled by a switch, but also by a pot (wheele or handle)?

Thanks in advance!

The manual is available to download here

Yes there is a POT for the wheelie
The steering (turning) is the Handle

Thanks
