Hello, so I am working on my Enduro Racer cabinet again and it's having problems with the light and monitor. Of course I just got my replacement Smartypi board and now it wants to start acting up. The ends of the light bulb are illuminated while the middle will not. The monitor turns on for a few seconds as I can hear the high voltage, then it shuts off. When I measured the voltage going to the monitor I was getting 123V, not sure if that's too high or not. (The monitor is a K7000). Already tried testing the light and monitor one at a time but still get the same problem. Any suggestions?

Attached picture shows how the bulb looks, and of course monitor keeps shutting off.

the light I would recommend replacing the bulb (looks like F12T8? read the numbers on the bulb) and starter (FS-2, FS-U)

K7000 you probably have a bad voltage regulator. you should be able to learn a lot about K7000s from @zenomorp 's video here:

the resistor on the side is R301, that's where the B+ voltage goes through and the red and blue wires soldered to the tabs are what connect to the voltage regulator. if you put multimeter on diode test and touch the probes to each leg of R301 (red and blue wire ends) and it's reading shorted, the voltage regulator is bad. on a 19" K7000 the voltage regulator is supposed to take the 150-160V and reduce it to roughly 123V. if the voltage regulator is shorted you will get 150-160V out the end that's supposed to be regulated and that will trip the high voltage (HV) shutdown mechanism, which is intended as "X-ray protection" and this is why your monitor is powering up and immediately shutting off.

also don't worry about the 123V AC source voltage. games run this anywhere from 100-130V, that's the purpose of voltage regulators.

hope this information is helpful. my grandpa had an Enduro Racer in my early years, I wasn't good at it though :ROFLMAO:

Alright, thanks for the response! I'll order a new fs-2 starter for the bulb and I'll take a look at the monitor board later.
