End of Line for ElecTRONica and Flynn's Arcade at Disney California Adventure

Not sure if this has been posted yet...

FYI. Well, it's official It's the End of Line for ElecTRONica and Flynn's Arcade at Disney California Adventure. It's last day is Sunday April 15th, 2012. So, if you haven't gone already or just want to go one last time, this is it. Just wanted to give everyone here a heads up on this. I'll sure miss ElecTRONica and most of all, Flynn's Arcade for it really brought back memories of the good old Arcade Days of the 1980's.

Damn, I won't be there til May 8th or so. That sucks. I agree on moving it to Starcade.

The Starcade has been reduced to a retail shop with maybe 10 games in the back. The upstairs is still empty and had been for more years than I can remember. Very sad.

In January 2011 Flynn's was packed with games and people and it was pure nirvana. I went again in Jan 2012, and they had maybe 1/3 of the original games. It was still really cool, but only a shell of its former glory. Huge kudos to whoever put this together. Did they borrow games from local collectors?

guess they're not planning on that sequel afterall

I spoke to Bruce Boxleitner at Megaon a month ago for 10 to 15 minutes and he said they were working on a sequel. I didn't press him for information on the subject as we were talking about other stuff and he simply mentioned it briefly.

Oooo - I wanna go before it closes!

The games were bought from Vintage Arcade Super Store by Disneyland. Maybe they will auction them off??

I'm going to try to make it at least one more time before they close. Does anyone know if they are open on weekday nights right now?

Damn it! I'm going the week before Memorial Day Weekend, so I'm gonna miss it. Fortunately, I have 100+ tokens, but I really wanted more.

As for John Carter...Disney was foolish for even thinking that would be successful. Man some of those higher-ups are stupid when it comes to that stuff...

Yeah, its disapointing...

I'll be AT the Disneyland Hotel the first full week in May for a work related conference and was hoping to hit elecTRONica again, but I'll miss it by about 3 weeks. Oh well, at least I got to experience it last October.

Man, it was AWESOME! Especially if you're a hard core Tron nut like me.

Yeah, no kiddin. They spent more marketing John Carter ($100 milllion!) than most action movies cost to make. I've love to know what they spent it on, besides a few lousy trailers.

Can you get me some of the Flynn's silver/gold tokens? I'd like to have a few for my game room....

Bought my tokens off ebay months ago.

As for John Carter. All of the trailers reminded me of the arena scene towards the end of Star wars: episode 2. The movie also looked to "brown" and dull if you know what I mean.
