Rich said that besides myself, there was only one other person who emailed him about this.

Are there any others out there who'd be interested in an Encom cabaret marquee?

If so, post here so Rich can see. :beerchug:

Probably not for me. The Encom marquee for the UR makes plenty of sense. But, since the cabaret is nowhere to be found in the film(s)...

However, if you offered to repro the original marquee or the monitor glass bezel, I bet you could find quite a few who'd jump on it.

Very true! I'd jump on both of those since I just have MameMarquee artwork on mine, ugh! :(

I would not put a new Encom marquee on my mini. But I know from experience that finding Tron mini marquees is ridiculously difficult. If there was a repro out there, Encom or not, it would sell. The market would be small though. VAPS lists 11 mini owners out of 487 total.

Yeah - this is true. They're not easy to find, and paint flakes off like crazy.

If I didn't have an original, I wouldn't hesitate to use an Encom one for a replacement...

I would love to get one for my mini !!!!!!
(The paint is flaked bad anyway)
Count me in...

They do flake. I have one good one, and one OK one. I keep thinking I should coat the back of both of them with Triple Thick like the pinball guys do with their backglasses. And I would also use an Encom repro in a heartbeat. It took 2 years to find the ones I have now.

Interesting idea. Any idea on price?

I have one, but am not listed in VAPS.

[Apologies for any thread hijacking!]

I'd buy a repro Tron mini bezel - silkscreened on glass.

Mine was flaking badly. About 7 years ago, I scanned what was left, and then painstakingly redrew it based on the scan. (Unfortunately, I redrew it in a raster format, not a vector one.) I then printed it onto a plastic film and placed it under a sheet of glass.

I'd be happy to donate my scans and redrawn art files to Rich or Darin if they have any interest in producing the bezel someday.

Bump for the weekenders...

And it's looking like a standard Tron cabaret marquee would be the way to go. I'll pre-pay for two if that'll help get this thing going. ;)

I emailed Rich yesterday this:Hi, I am looking for a replacement marquee for a Tron mini.
I don't mind if it is the regular vinyl or silk screened on glass.
I don't mind if it is the original Bally or the new Encom. (Encom would be cool though)
I can send you the dimensions if you like (don't have them here at work right now)
Thanks,
Brian

And here is the response:sorry I dont have any plans for a cabret Tron marquee at this time
for a translight inkjet you might try gameongrafix.com
formerly mamemarquess.com

Thanks again and Game on!
Rich

Yeah, I'm not surprised considering the low response to this thread. If there were 50 responses saying they'd buy one, I'll bet he'd do it. But you figure there's maybe 10 here and what's the average... maybe 50% of those that say they will buy something actually do?

Oh well... maybe someday...

TRON Cabaret

I originally emailed about doing a run of these marquees as (at that time) I did not own a upright version of TRON. I have since bought one and ordered the Encom parts for it. I still would buy one for my cabaret but the price would have to be right. I still think it would be a good idea as it really is hard to find parts for the cabaret version.

I have not seen a cab version before or a table top ever,
I just would like the marquee for when I do find it
