Emulated Pinball question (or does anyone read Spanish?)

Apologies in advance if discussion about emulation is not allowed here.

I am going to tackle a project like the one on this Spanish website (scroll down till you see the Star Wars logo).

It appears that my software options are either Visual Pinball, Future Pinball or Hyperpin. I'm not sure which one the guy used when he built his machine so I have been researching each program on my own.

It seems like Visual Pinball 9 with "spanned" tables (as opposed to "full screen") is the way to go, given the tables I want to play* but before I start down this rocky road of emulation I figured I'd ask if anyone here recommends one program over the other.

*I want to be able to play Black Knight 2000, Bride of Pinbot, Rollergames, and Fish Tales at the very least.

I can't tell you much aside from that these programs seem to be finicky as all getout.

I had it working fine, have made NO changes to my system..went to fire it up last night, and oh look, now it won't load any tables at all. It's almost ridiculous how complicated these are to set up, and how easy they are to break, at least on a normal working PC. If it's going into a dedicated pinball cabinet where there's no chance of any driver, system file, or ANYTHING ELSE EVER CHANGING, I'm sure they're probably more stable.

Indeed I did, in fact Post #13 in that thread is me asking the same question. But that was nine months ago and I was just curious if anyone had more recent experience to pull from.

And good point Frax, I do have a dedicated MAME cab running Visual Pinball 8 in a non-spanned setup which runs just fine but that might be because my MAME cab never gets any Microsoft updates or patches of any kind. I will keep my eyes peeled for this new project to get broken by hotfixes as well.

If you go to the end of that thread I believe there is another more recent poster that has completed a build as well. I know a few on here have so far with mixed results. I wish you luck and hope you post your progress as this is something I would love to try as well!

Give it a few extra seconds to change the page layout to english.

VPForums.org is a great recource. They have a few dutch speaking members as well:)
Also a nice tutorial on installation and tons of downloads.
The RollerGames table plays excellent

Yup I'm a member on there too. Which RollerGames table do you mean though, the VP 8 or the VP 9 version? Or do you just mean RollerGames in general, in which case I totally agree, I love that machine!
