Picked up a few games recently all conversions. In the lot is dedicated Star Trek cab not the sega convert a cab. Thinking of restoring it. Any advice before I go any further. I know that the monitors and parts are hard to find.

Fun game but very expensive to put back together. I have a water logged donor game. But already sold the control panel. Decide what it's worth to you. Chances are you'll spend $600 to $800 just to buy the monitor, board set and control panel

Last couple working board sets on ebay went for $500. That didn't include the power supply. Best bet might be to find someone with a trashed cab and buy a bunch of parts as a package deal. If you buy everything piecemeal you could easily be looking at $1,200+.

Yup, that is what I was expecting, took a closer look at it and the cab is in decent shape. The control panel is salvageable too. Not sure how desirable the game is cause it seems every restore I do I'm upside down when I sell it.

I think it's doable, with some patience and persistence. It won't be cheap, but will be worth it, IMO.

The parts are out there, you'll just have to be vigilant (and ready to jump when they pop up.)

I picked up an Asteroids recently that was partially converted to Star Trek. Just the CP and bezel, as all other parts were still Asteroids. But I have the conversion CP (if anyone else is looking for one.)

PM sent to doomed. I am sure one way or another we should be able to make a dedicated Star Trek again.

andrewb, if that doesn't work out, I may be interested in the covert-a-cab CP.

I think doomed is only potentially interested in the spinner, but not the metal CP.

If you want the CP, PM, and we can work something out.

I am looking for a tribe replacement for a g08. If anyone reading this has a tube, or a tube for a 6100, please hit me up via PM. We are one tube away from actualizing a full rebuild and restore on a monitor which was never used (but the tube sadly was cracked when we got it).

If you have room to store it, then you should. Because there are some star treks in asteroids cabs. Swap the guts and your improving things.

But if your going to buy all the parts, it's going to get really expensive.

I will take some pics this weekend, looks like another project added to the pile.

Such a great game, so I'm hoping to see you restore it. A restoration thread would be great.

Captainhendry has a great thread on his restore. I need to thank him for me even recognizing this cab as a Star Trek. I will start taking some pics and see if I can get this back into it's former glory.
