How much should a converted Food fight cost?

Black painted sides/front.
Hack CP
No marquee
No Bezel
No Boards

I know someone's going to say "It's not worth the price to restore it" But heck, It's a Food fight!

I paid $50 for what you're describing earlier this year from an op's warehouse. It was converted to a Double Dribble. Dead Disco monitor, non-working board. I already have a Food Fight, so I figured I could use this for a horizontal 2 player Mame. I was happy to discover the original back door sheet in the bottom of the cab, though.

Let there be pictures!

The The owner's Food fight cab is on the left of my Speed Buggy game(I've bought from him before). Not really in the best "shape" is it.

I've got a Food Fight cabinet that I'm struggling to figure out what to do with. It's been converted to a Double Play Super Baseball / Home Run Derby cab. The conversion totally ruined the control panel, but most everything else seems to be intact. The original Disco monitor is still there, clear, bright with no burn. The sides have been covered with wood grain laminate:

But further inspection reveals:

Now the question becomes -- to restore or not?

Warm up them sides with a heat gun, not to super hot and that laminate may come right off.
I guess it's how bad do you want to restore the game.

ghostlyguy, i'd say $25. or less. if it wasn't all painted over, i'd pay maybe 50-75 if i was looking to build a FF, but with this you're taking a chance the art underneath the paint may be gone.

you should try to restore this. peel the sides and see what you got.. The cabinet lines look good/not broken or cut. Yours could come out nice..

As for the painted over one, I would say if it comes off easy, maybe, but I would just say pass. more than likey painted over will end badly..

Free? Sounds pretty iffy. Though some guys are willing to dump more $ into restoring a game than it would cost to just buy a dedicated one. I guess the question is "Are you one of those guys?"

Sometimes it's so much easier to find a complete but trashed food fight for cheap and transplant it into a nice cabinet. My food fight cabinet was empty and painted over with grey paint and primer, now it's the nicest cabinet most have ever seen on a FF.

I may not get that lucky.. . The only other available Food Fight cab I know of belongs to a hoarder that is piss poor about taking care of his games... So I'm out of luck there. I'd like to try restoring a game not-many would. (probably for a good reason too:eek:)
