I just thought I would share this one and for all you folks who are young hipsters.....and this is all old hat.....please move along as there is nothing to see here but a wide eyed old man babbling.
So I stopped by this Emagine place at lunch today to check it out. I guess now that my little ones are old enough and 'allowing' their parents to actually go outside....I'm pretty much blown away by everything I'm seeing these days. I snapped a few pictures of this mega bowling alley (12 lanes downstairs/4 glowing lanes upstairs), restaurant, bar, brick oven pizza place, 10 movie screens....etc.....etc.....complex. I also couldn't believe some of the 10 screens were equiped with 'Feel-A-Round' chairs which I thought was a lost technology showcased in Kentucky Fried Movie over 30 years ago. Really? Does that cost extra?
Most of the pictures I took from the upstairs 'Sky Box' which was deserted and had most of the lights turned off (thus the lousy cell phone pictures). There were some misc. Golden Tee games, pool tables, a shuffle board (long board), a hoops game and finally a Multi-Ms Pac cocktail. I guess I still get wide eyed seeing these massive places as it seems like just yesterday when you went to the theatre they had one screen and it was totally impressive when they had two! LOL. Had I known this place was close to home I would have skipped Disney World last month and saved all that hard earned cash. Although...this place didn't look too cheap either...they were running a gold old fashioned $5.00 matinee.
With all the crazy lighting and high $$$ effects I asked one of the managers "Do you have glowing coasters for your drinks?".......Nope......"Do you at least have glowing doorways to walk through that change color?"......Nope.....he said "We have a glowing pink table but it doesn't change colors".......I made a disgusted look on my face and immediately left this hole in the wall mega-complex......;-)
