Hello,
I'm working on a Chicago Coin Funland Rifle. You can coin the game up and it will start, but it doesn't keep track of the number of shots fired. The assembly in the top that count fell apart and I don't think it got reassembled correctly. I have somewhat of a manual for it but it doesn't show how the wipers are installed and where the insulators need to go. If anyone has parts or can take pictures for me, I'd greatly appreciate it. Any other suggestions would be great too.

Thanks
Dex

Dex...Good evening. How about you shoot a few good pics and post them so we can take a look at how you re-assembled your unit. If my step units are the same we could compare and contrast.

Listen before you take the pics reset the game and unplug it. Then take the pics. The reason that you do this is to find your home position on your wipers.

Are there other step units in this game? I know it may sound simple but have you compared the set up to the step units that are working?

Does this unit move with ease?

Look forward to the pics...

This is the assembly that I'm having problems with.
Shot count contact plate
Plate # 373-2510-b
finger # 379-2529.

The plastic rods that held the fingers in the correct order were damaged. When I went to work on it the fingers came apart. I have them back in place as well as I could going from this diagram, but I don't know where the insulators are supposed to go.

Ok I can somewhat help you. First if you have. Manual and need parts call Steve at pinball resource. Have your manual with the part numbers in this diagram. You'll need the part numbers to help the find what your looking for.

Next the black and white diagram is in the reset position. This shows you when you reset the game where the fingers should be.

If you reset the game then unplugged it before taking the pics. I can tell by looking at your plate and position of your fingers from your pics (note that's if you reset the game that the two longest fingers are not where they should be as shown in the in the black and white diagram.

See the red mark at the bottom of the board between where the wires are soldered? That's where one of the two long fingers should be pointed at reset. Unless you made that mark. A tech many years ago made it to know where home is.

Another thing I see is an issue with your board. If you look at your black and white diagram number 1 is written in there (note right near your red mark). It should be copper and flat like the rest but it looks as if it burned out and someone tried to repair it.

Looking at your fingers I believe you put them back together correctly.

So make sure you reset the game. Loosen the nut on the fingers, turn to the left (until long finger is at home position. The secure with the lock washer and nut. Plug it back in and reset the game. Make sure the two long fingers are exactly where they should be.

I'd like to ask you to shoot me a pic of the arms, sprocket and springs from the other side of this unit.

Let me know how your doing...

Take Care...

I emailed pinball resource. He doesn't have the part I need. I think I can repair my contact plate. The problem at this point is that I don't have the insulators installed in the wiper assembly, as I can't figure out where they are supposed to go.

Hey Dex

Sent you a PM. Have another suggestion. There's a guy selling on on EBay right now. You can ask him to shoot a photo of that unit. Some will some won't. The worst they can say is no.

Good luck!

Either no responses from people, or they don't have the parts so far. And the guy on ebay said he would take pics, but hasn't sent any.

Got a few more emails out so, we shall see.

Dex...it's tough when your stuck like this especially with this type of situation. One more piece of advice. Post a message if you haven't already on rec.game.pinball. Worth a shot...

Good luck with your search!

If you have the schematic, you can probably work out which fingers need to connect to each pads/wires and which fingers should be insulated from each other. A photo would make it alot easier but hopefully you might be able get it going.
Regards Derek
