What is the best way?

I vacuumed off what I can, but there still seems to be layer of dirt on the wood and the switch units. Is it ok to wash it down with water and blow dry?

Thanks,

I usually stand the cabinet on end with the backbox and playfield removed and blow it off with compressed air. If its real bad, I fill a windex bottle with alcohol and give everything a thorough rinse. Do not use water! The only bad thing about doing this is you blow off or discolor labels if you arent careful.

Ok, thanks.

It's not really bad, and yes, I was concerned a bit about the labels. It just has that 'dirty' look - maybe I will just try using a dry brush and see how well that works.

If the machine is working properly, I wouldent mess with cleaning it so much. A brush is probably a bad idea because you could potentially bend a switch out of adjustment.

Ok, thanks for the tip - will keep that in mind for the future.

But for now, the machine is not 100% and I just ended up pulling it apart and cleaned the board underneath and in the process I happen to find several switches that needed adjusting (always closed - which didn't seem right based on my background, granted this is my first pin and now maybe I screwed it up more).

Also found a couple of broken wires (still haven't figured out where one of them goes). Also noticed a connector strip that seems odd. There are 2 wires on it (3 terminals), but the wires are not connected to each other (or anything else). Kind of looks like there was wire at one time on a couple of the other terminals, but that looks like another thing to figure out. ;)
