Anybody know of any EM guys in my area? (Ann Arbor-ish)
Would greatly appreciate it as a friend of mine bought basically NIB Tahiti bingo pin off flea bay and it needs some adjustments...
Any help would be greatly appreciated and also compensated :)

Thanks so much!
A little background on my case
#1 its an EM Bingo
#2 its a friends NIB EM Bingo
#3 I know NOTHING about EM (Im a SS kinda guy)
If there was nothing to lose by me rooting around in there I would for sure try it, but I just dont feel comfortable working on his machine.
I checked the fuses and looked for anything obvious, but thats as far as I am willing to go.
These EMs a re a different type of beast all togother! My hats of to all of you guys who can make sense of these monstrosities!!

i dont know what the problem you have is so in general.... the machine may have some parts froze up or sluggish. the lubes that were used tend to thicken or harden over time.clean and "exercise" the moving parts till they move freely. cleaning contacts gets you into the machine, look for loose wires, broken solder, and a lot of problems will clear up. sometimes a contact will be in the wrong position ,closed when it should be open. if you dont have a diagram its gonna suck but its do-able

Wow. A new in box EM game? That's crazy!

If the game really is new, then the contacts should be pretty clean, since they've never been used. You don't mention what it's doing or not doing, so I can't give you any advice, but as aloc said, most problems stem from either dirty contacts, or dried up lubrication in all the step mechanisms. A pretty common problem for old EM pins is that they won't reset - due to gummed up grease in all the score reel and other step units. Fixing this usually requires taking the mechanisms apart, cleaning them, and putting them back together with new grease. DO NOT USE SPRAY CONTACT CLEANER! DO NOT USE WD40! Spraying crap like that inside the game is just asking for problems, and could start a fire.

Again Ian speaks the truth! DO NOT use any type of contact cleaner in these EM games. Also WD40 should never be used in these games as a lubricant. All it does is draw moisture and attract dirt. Again all of this is explained in the DVDs that I mentioned previously. Keep us up to date on the project and don't be afraid to ask questions. Good Luck.
