there is no sound at all. it only makes some loud noises. if I use a known working MPU I will hear only the voices, the music is still silent. I tested my sound board on a friend's working machine and it didn't work at first but the YM2151 was very hot so I replaced it and it worked! so my sound board should be OK but the music is always silent even with a working MPU. could it be an issue on the power pcb? any thoughts on where to start?

could it be as simple as a sound pot? i am not familiar with the guts on that kinda machine.

or ship it to me that is one pin i would love to own

Take it back to your friends and plug it back in there. Run the sound tests in the diagnostics section and make sure that the music is NOT turned off.

OK I tested my MPU and my SOUND PCB in my friend's game which works 100% perfect:

MPU = has no sound, so you hear everything except "let's party" "party is over" "hahahaha" etc.

SOUND BOARD = dead. makes only strange noises but not always,
my friend lent me his sound pcb to compare. I replaced all the socketed but nothing changes.

so my game is completely silent as I have problems both on the MPU and on the SOUND PCB. any suggestion on where to start? caps? others?

Repair the sound board first, using your friend's machine to test it with. It will make troubleshooting your MPU a lot easier.
