ELO serial touchscreen controller for Megatouch XL

I have to bump this thread. I am trying to retrofit my Force Radion using an external 15" ELO touchscreen. I tried the dipswitch #6 trick to rescan yet I still get the "touch screen controller not responding" error upon boot into the Merit software. To note, the Linux recognized it fine after reconfiguring itself and a few reboots later. Any ideas?

If you haven't resolved the issue yet...Does your touchscreen control have a good path to earth ground? They need it to work properly. Make sure that your outlet (or extension cord) has ground wired correctly. Also, make sure there is continuity from the green wire on your touchscreen control (where ever it is in the cabinet) to the ground plug of your cord. This may have been mentioned already, but I didn't read the entire thread.
