Elevator Action

I've owned 2 of them. I completely restored and restenciled one and sold it for $800+, and I also cleaned one up that was in good working condition and sold it for $250. I think the game is clunky myself. The 'squat down/ but must pull up to stand up' business got me killed more often than not. You will end up getting one in the $300 range and it will most likely have a dead power supply board, water damage to the MDF and the base will need replacing at the very least. There is no screened repro CPO, marquee or bezel out there, but there are stencils. I find Jungle King to be the superior Taito title.

Phet,

Good points. I should have grabbed that EA when i had the chance - i guess we both knew it would come to this. Once i get a game in my head, its gotta happen sooner or later.

So, would also consider a nice Jungle Hunt / King. That was another i thought about. I could always easily convert between the two, provided i can find a kit for either one (PCB, CP, Bezels and Marquee).

Let me know what anyone has!

I love elevator action because of the randomness it's a different experience every time. Sometimes the game lines up great for you sometimes it screws you. It's like donkey Kong in that way. In jungle king you can make the same moves every game and if they were successful they always willbe in every subsequent game. I still enjoy it however just not as much as the random taito games.

Well, thanks for the comments. I played EA on mame somemore, and am convinced it will be a keeper here (thats rare!).

I also like the look of classic taitos - they are so sexy.

Well, i think i found one - from DPWITZ, scratch built. I am looking for something like new, and i think thats the way to go. I have the CP and Bezel glass, so all i need is the PCB, marquee, and plastic bezel (for instructions).

Off to search. Thanks.
