Elevator Action - Upright Cabinet - Need some help plz.

hello everyone..

ok my problem is that i get a White screen and No Sound..

i took my board to a local Arcade here in NJ. my board was tested and worked great on their cabinet. the guy then told me its probably my Power Supply Board. So i just got a replacement Power Supply Board and still got the same result.. All 4 Red Lights are on.

anyone have an idea of what it might be? Neither my Father or Myself have played the game in about 5 years. I would really like to play the game again. so any help would be appreciated..

Thanks.

Mounted just above the boardset is a filter board. Pull that board off and check for cold solder joints. I fixed many problems my cab had when I reflowed all those cold joints.

You may want to consider putting in a switching power supply. Get a old AT power supply from a old computer. It has the proper reset wire the game needs.

Its the board right above the mainboard. In your inside cab photo its the board you see lower left hand side.

Looks like your is brown. Last photo, the board in the top of the photo, with a bunch of connectors on it.

i looked at the filter board you explained about.. when i unmounted it from the back of the cab and had a look.. it seems to be in pretty bad condition. the soldered connections on some are badly rusted and the Green on the back of the board is flaking off.

this may be the problem.. but i guess ill have to find a replacement board and see if that helps.

I don't know what the board looks like, but I would try to clean it up, and repair myself. Reflow all the solder points on that board.

You can try PMing Todd Tuckey at TNT Amusements to see if he has got any extra boards.

This is the fun of the Hobby, repairing your own games and then feeling great when you see a dead game come back to life.

I still have one in our showroom...this is the game I have been testing all the EA boards I have been selling for last 4 months! Only 1 extra left now!!

i'm still refurbishing my green taito cabinet, to throw one of todd's boards i got last month into...it's always a work in progress...

welcome.

did you test the board at richie knuclez arcade? or is there another arcade in nj with an elevator action.

the main board was tested in a working Elevator Action cab at the arcade. They have a cab there so we just swapped out his and put mine in and my Main board worked.
