Elevator Action to Jungle Hunt... extra control panel holes?

I'm converting an Elevator action back to a Jungle Hunt and I just realized that the control panel has 2 extra buttons on the EA. Anyone ever dealt with this situation?

Should I just add extra buttons on the Jungle Hunt or is there some smart way to fill in those holes in the control panel? Seems like just adding the CPO on top would be a bad idea.

the best way to handle this is to take a couple pieces of metal slightly larger than the holes and weld them to the underside of the cp where the unwanted holes are. Fill the indentation with bondo, sand, prime, paint and apply new cpo.

If welding is not an option for you then you can do a similar fix only instead of welding you use a metal epoxy or product like jb weld to glue the metal pieces to the underside of the cp. In this case I would use slightly larger metal pieces than if I were welding to give more surface space for the glue to adhere to. Keep in mind that over time it's possible the glue will fail and allow the metal pieces to fall off. If this happens carefully and quickly reglue the metal pieces before the bondo pieces fall out and someone starts poking at the area of the holes under the cp. Welding is the proper way to fix this but if it's not an option this will do the job.

If you are stripping down the CP, I like screwing a plate from the back side to cover the hole, cut off the screws and fill with JB Weld then sand until smooth. A lot of work, but looks and feels fantastic when finished.
Good luck

Thanks for the great tips, guys. A feller on here has actually PMed me to trade a Jungle Hunt control panel for an Elevator action. Problem solved. Great to know this for future reference though. Thanks for taking the time to respond.
