elevator action keeps blowing fuse on power supply board

elevator action stopped playing last week. opened it up and saw the 5v led light was not lit. replaced the 10 amp fuse and after a few days of playing, it blew again.where should i look now?

You could start with power supply rebuild. If its never been done then its probably needed.

Taito linear power supplies are the biggest piece of crap that were ever made. Most people just slap a switcher in there and be done with it. It is rebuildable, but I am not sure if Bob has a kit for it or not. Arcadeshop has a plug and play switcher for $39 IIRC.

I've had a cheap switching supply in my Jungle King for 10 years or more. The only problem I ever had was when a fuse blew by slipping in a board with a shorted supply line.

I wouldn't bother with a rebuild. There are a few tech notes from Taito surrounding beefing up the supply a little.

dokert when you say plug and play do you really mean plug and play? i thought i read about a reset switch somewhere. and which one is it if i do go that way? thanks!

Okay it is not plug and play, you have to splice in the AC wires to the switcher.

ok here's a pic of the power supply. i see where the to harness' plug in the arcadeshop adapter, but what do i do with two near the back? thanks!
