Hey All,

Years ago when i was looking for a MAME project cab I found a Taito cab that was pretty beat up and paid around 10 bucks for it. The previous owner had been trying to restore it to an Elevator action and included the Marquee and 2 boardsets with it (sweet deal in retrospect). I noticed that the two boards have very different connections and it got me thinking. Was there ever a JAMMA boardset made for Elevator Action? I know that the easy way to test would be to plug it into a JAMMA cab but I dont have one working right now.

Any info would be helpful.

Bob

Very doubtful. JAMMA really didn't start coming around until 1985 and later. Elevator Action was a 1983 game, and pre-dates the video game industry crash that prompted JAMMA to get adopted more widely 2-3 years later when ops started converted early '80s games.

No. Elevator Action was very much pre-JAMMA. The only version you'd find that was JAMMA would be part of a MAME.

I think there were two versions of the EA boards. One had a security board the other did not? There were also bootlegs as well, you may have one of those. They all pre-dated JAMMA, though.
