Thanks yep no love for Caddysrule :( It must be to much to ask for someone to open the backdoor of an EA and take a few snapshots of the wiring for me and send it to my E-mail. :)

I'm at work till wed. If no one sends you anything by Wed morning I'll have detailed pics for you by noon.

Wish I saw this last night. I would have had something to do.

Actually, now that you mention it, for me it literally is. Heh heh. I bought an Elevator Action recently and the seller had tucked the power cord inside the back door for freight shipping. After it had arrived I was unable to open the back door with the key because the anti-theft bars Taito liked to use on their doors had jammed. I've had the game for weeks now and still haven't been able to get into it to test it. And you can't just drill out the lock because then you're really screwed -- the lock bars are still there and now you have no way to turn them. No key for the coin door, so I can't go in through there. :irked:

Hopefully I can take it to the next repair party at Dokert's to get some assistance to crack this baby open.

I wish I had read about this yesterday... I just spent a couple of hours yesterday in the back of an Elevator action.

It's fried beyond belief right now, but the wiring was atleast right.

I won't be back there to take any pictures until Sunday or so, if you don't get any pictures by then, I'll try to remember to get some while I'm there.

Thanks for the offers guys :)

Scucci and SanTe good luck getting your games working..Mine is going to be a pain in the ass as well....

you could drill out the lock in the coin door. I believe this would allow you to reach in and move the bar or possibly stick something long in there to move the bar since the bar may be out of reach. BTW I think this is why most of the bars were removed because they sucked and got in the way.

Oh, "mine" is pretty well screwed. lol The boards feel on the power supply board and we found out when smoke started pouring out of it. Sooooo... yeah.

Drilling the lock will still work in this case. Drilling it out destroys the pin/tumbler mechanism which allows you to freely turn the barrel. Then you can get in there with something like a screwdriver and apply more force than you could with a key.

Pick the lock! I do it all the time! :)

Drill out the coindoor lock... reach in and unlatch the control panel... remove the bezel... you should have plenty of room to reach where you need to reach. Alternatively if you drill out the back lock you should be able to turn it with a screw driver.

Final option would be a saws-all and cut the lock bars.

I reiterate to drill out the back lock.

You cannot remove the glass bezel from an Elevator Action from the front. You do it by sliding up the bezel through the channel with the back door open.
