My Elevator Action background music does not work, jump and fire sounds do work though. Any suspect areas I should be looking at?

The background music circuit?
sorry.. couldn't resist :) Happy new year Joe!
I think I have [ parts of?] an EA board set if it helps

cheers
/Tim

I must be an easy target Tim! After tinkering with it for an hour or so I got it to work for a while and then it cut back out. Perhaps I could try part of your board set and see if I could get it to work. Happy New Year to you.

No problem... I should be around tomorrow afternoon and sunday/monday.
Its not something silly like the BG volume pot is it?
cheers
/Tim

p.s. I'm not sure how much of the board set I have.. It might just be one board.

I am almost positive it is not the volume pot. If you get a chance let me know what part of the pcb set you have.

Figure 22 (game PC board schematic 6 of 7, p40) in the schematics is where the 4 sound channels are mixed. I would use a logic probe or ear bud to figure out whether the problem is in this figure or before.

Could be one of the op-amps is flakey or many other probs.
