It has become apparent that the Electrohome G19-CDO is a somewhat rare monitor due to the lack of information available on it.

This post is only to provide information on this monitor in case anyone runs into one of these animals in the future. There will be lots of pics, and only a few notes.

This monitor has a low impedance yoke, unlike the G07 which has a high impedance yoke. The measurements that I got were 2 ohms and 14 ohms.

This monitor has individual headers for both positive and negative sync.

It uses a JVC flyback, with a horizontal width coil mounted on top of it. It also employs 2 more with coils directly on the chassis.

It uses the same neck socket pinout as the G07.

There are separate controls for H Hold and H Phas. (H Freq)

Any difference between the CDO and the FCO? (my FCO is from 85 so maybe it's just a later run?) i just picked a G19-FCO up off CL and was going to use it as a bench monitor if possible. It definitely uses the same JVC flyback, and multiple coils which i thought was interesting.

sweet, great info here.

do you know if a replacement flyback readily available?

I'm going to be working on one of these. This is the first time I've ever seen one in 40 years of working on monitors. It's sort of a G07 on steroids (and it has a contrast control).

Zanen Electronics has a capkit for it: Kit # 105 which has 20 capacitors in it and sells for $7.95

However since I don't have a kit handy, I'll need to make one up "on the fly" so to speak. I will definitely write down the cap values and locations to make a listing for everyone.

Thanks Dokert and KenLayton for the valuable information. I recently picked-up one of these (13" G19-COO) and you answered several of my questions. My tube is badly burned, but I do have another "not nearly so burned" G07 13" tube that I planned to swap in. Based on the information about the yoke, I will plan to swap those too.

I was going to post about finding a g19cdo in one of my cabs, I had never seen one, but sure enough, dokert and ken had. This one is in a halleys comet cab I was getting ready for cax(originally a satans hollow). Game is working now, but pic is a little green. I need to mess with it a bit or hit it with a rejuvenator.

I wonder why these things exist? Was Electrohome wanting to replace the G07 and it just never happened? Was it designed to fulfill some particular goal that the G07 didn't do? Or was it just a cost-reduced monitor?

It takes money to create new designs, source parts, set up assembly lines, stock spare parts, etc. There has to be a reason for these...

Th 13" one I have was in a poker cabinet. And it has a low impedance yoke. Of course fly back is toast so doubt it will get repaired. It was made overseas.

well, putting 3 width coils on it does not sound like a cost reducing move. I would think it was a reaction to the lack of control with the g07. But coming out in 1984-1985 might have something to do with its fate. What did electrohome do after 1985?

I imagine their monitor business fell off a cliff after '85 as the arcade game market collapsed.

I was pretty amazed a few years ago to read an ad about a current Electrohome product in a magazine. Apparently they were a pretty broadly diversified electronics manufacturer and they're still around doing other things.

I was going to rejuv the tube before cax, but it was missing its info, So I left it alone. green is too high, and the only adjustment I could find is green bias and I have it turned all the way down.

It does have a photocopied manual in it. I can take pics of the pages if needed. I think its called the g19 family manual.

Yes, please scan and post the G19 manual. Thanks.

Did you ever swap the G07 tube into the G19 chassis?
Did it work out?

It's still on my list of things to do, based upon project priority.

Over this weekend I was going through a stack of 13" monitors and came across a G19-FCO model to work on. Initially would not power up. After changing all the caps it fired up. Apparently the CRT is bad and will have to be changed. This chassis was in really great condition after cleaning.

I recently acquired a Nevada Games poker machine with a G19. I cannot get b+ to adjust, too high and goes into HV shutdown. I repl caps, voltage regulators and removed HOT from the circuit. b+ still too high. I would
like to get this monitor working, overall its in good condition.
