Okay,
So I have a Star Trek with the Electrohome G08.
Before I go messin' with a semi-working G08, I wanted to get some advice (besides buying a fire extinguisher)
So here's the issue with the G08..
During gameplay, the screen will "bloom" when the amount of vectors being drawn is increased or decreased.
Ex: Finish 1st mission, screen draws big Enterprise and warps off the screen (not much being drawn), goes to 2nd mission and Enterprise zooms in and shrinks down to playfield (full screen being drawn.) During the transition of these two screens, the monitor blooms and the graphics stretch and return back to normal.
So where is the monitor failing that causes this?
Would a simple cap kit take care of this?
I've capped (3) 4900's and (1) disco monitor and feel comfortable with my soldering skills.
However, I really am going where no man has gone before 'cause I don't think this monitor has ever been capped in 30 years!
I'm from the school, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" - but this blooming is starting to get to me.
I'm really torn about poking around a g08.
Any advice?
