For those working on Electrohome G07 monitors, here are some transistor cross references:

X901 Type 2SC2688 = NTE 157

X902 Type 2SC1890A = NTE 90 or SK 3931

X04 Type 2SC1106A = NTE 94 or in a pinch NTE 162

Be advised the NTE90, SK3931, and 2SC1890A are all obsolete and getting very hard to find. Sometimes you can find these on ebay.

X401 Type 2SD478 or 2SD1138 = NTE 375

X402 Type 2SD478 or 2SD1138 = NTE 375

X401 and X402 are the vertical outputs.

I still have a few of the 2688's and 1890's but am out of the 1106's.
Giving up on Japanese transistors -- too hard to stock in the US.

....and that is why you never throw away a parts chassis as you will be amazed at the parts you can find on them. I have some 6100 deflection boards that are physically snapped in half and HV boards that are burnt. Still keep them for the oddball part that gets snapped off somehow in a box etc. I know this stuff takes up space but I cannot tell you how many times I have been saved from a "parts" chassis or the like.

ha, me too. I could have sold the parts chassis for $20 maybe, but I've got over $100 in value pulling parts off of that bitch. :)

Does anyone know X501, IC 501 off hand (if they sell these at frys.) I'm going to run there later and may as well get as many back up parts as possible.

Dang I have another chassis that needs x501 any ideas on the nte replacement?

they are NOT the same.

NTE sucks, and can be wrong on many things.

i learned this early on when searching for some parts.

i put in a NTE part where it should have worked in a chassis over 10 years ago and it smoked more parts i had to fix.

i will NEVER buy NTE unless i have no other choice.
99% of the time the correct part is available.

Peace
Buffett

Hey guys any ideas on the NTE # for the neckboard transistors?

(of if they were mentioned above and I wasn't paying attention, make me aware of that).

edit looks like it's nte 376

yeah now I need x303 to be sure. It tested good out of circuit but it's the only transistor I don't have in stock so I suppose I should buy some.

based on buffets advice, I suppose I should stay away from NTE whenever possible.

well it looks like these are the same as x303:

X102, X104, X106

guess I can yank one from my parts chassis to test.
