I've got a Galaxian with an Electrohome G07 monitor. The red on the right half of the screen is faded, most noticeable on the bottom right quarter of the screen. I put in a new cap kit and flyback and there was no change. I did not replace the hot or regulator transistors because they checked out OK. The B+ reads 127v which I know is a little high (didn't get a chance to adjust it yet), but nothing I've read says this should impact the color like this. I've degaussed the monitor and no change. I've look and looked and can't find this same problem posted anywhere. Help please!

Probably need to degauss the monitor.

I tried that and there was no change. I used the drill method and the soldering gun method and there was no change. Should I invest in a good degaussing coil like Bob Roberts sells? Does it make a big difference?

Can you post a pic?

The monitor should also have a built in degaussing circuit, but if that's not working then it wouldn't help.

Changing the orientation of the monitor might affect it as well (i.e. facing east -west vs north south).

I couldn't get a picture that did a good job of showing the faded area. But I did give the degaussing another try and moved the cabinet to a new location, and after a few minutes that took care of it. Not sure if it was the degaussing or the new location, but I'm happy. Thanks for the help.
