Got an Electrohome g07 all recapped and tuned up. Reinstalled it in a Ms Pacman only to find out the plastic casing of the horizontal width coil seems too have crumbled and finally cracked, The top part of the plastic casing as well as the screw that you adjust have come completely off. Strangely though the coil itself is still working. The monitor looks absolutely fine and I have no problem with the positioning. I was able to get it where I want it and am otherwise satisfied. The question I have is whether or not there is any issues beyond just not being able to adjust the width with the casing of the coil broke. Anything potentially harmful to the monitor? Like I said it looks perfectly fine as-is. Should I replace it immediately and not use the monitor in the meantime, or am I fine for the time being?

I would replace it. If for some reason it broke more, the coil could short something out. They are cheap and fairly easy to replace.

I've got a frogger at the arcade I work at where the middle plastic part broke off down inside the coil so you can just pull it out. I just put it back on and left it as is, no issues for the past 3 years. I bought a replacement and keep it on hand for just in case. As long as nothing metal is gonna fall out of it and short anything like that slug, it's not like i'ts gonna unravel itself and start touching everything. If it needs adjustment, replace it, if not it's fine.

Ended up just going ahead and replacing it! The rest of the coil casing basically disintegrated up on removal lol

All is good now! But good to know it seems it could have been left alone with little issues of no adjustment is required! Thanks everyone!
