I know I am beating a dead horse here, but approx how many circuits should I have for 35 vids, 4 pins, and a couple of auxiliary items? With my current layout I was thinking 4 to 5 should work.

Maybe we should have a formula written for this question if one is not already done. :D

It all depends on how many amps each item pulls.

Most typical arcade games are about 2 amps or so max. Some classics pull more, some less.

Find out how many amps the breaker for your room allows, and you will have your answer!

Before designing my basement arcade I did a lot of calculations with amps and such. Currently I have about 37 games that are turned on at the same time, with lighting, 2 large TV's, stereo, etc. I put in 5 separate 20 amp circuits. Every now and then I put a Kill-A-Watt meter on the circuits and I'm typically drawing 10 to 15 amps per circuit. That's perfect, because you really don't want to be hitting the limit at 20 amps.

Amps

Most home electrical wall outlets run on a 15 amp breaker. Some on a 20. Most classic games run at 1-2 amps and on startup they spike a little higher. If you count on 3 amps per game to have a cusion. 5 games per curcuit. You can run more per circuit but it is nice to not run something at it's full load.
