Elaut seems to be selling less and less parts to actually rebuild components. They only offer you to buy the whole assembly. Latest example is with the new pushers Smurfs and Emerald City they have switched from cd-1000 to seymotor (a knock off of the cd-1000) and unlike the cd1000 you can not get spare belts, clutches, drive wheels etc, you can only buy the whole dispenser for $1k. I can rebuild a whole cd1000 for $30 and have it running like new, so this is crazy to me. We have a new emerald city that already has a bad dispenser but i have found that you can install a cd1000 in its place with no problem.

My question is, has any ever converted their hopper on their wizard or wonka to one of these from Asahi https://www.asahiseikousa.com/coin-hoppers/
I have heard that the brand that they currently use is a knock off of an Asahi so I was curious if I could do like the cd 1000 and exchange out the hopper for a Asahi one and actually be able to buy spare parts for it when it breaks

The CD-1000 is the Asahi Sekio card dispenser.

Correct, I was using the cd1000 as an example of how elaut was using a component that was able to be repaired and swapped it with a knock off that can not be, they will only sell the whole unit.

So that got me thinking that if they did it with the card dispenser did they also do it with the coin hopper. And maybe there is an option for a hopper that can actually be serviced vs having to buy a whole new hopper. Someone I have spoken with believes that the hopper that elaut uses is a knock off of an Asahi hopper. My question is if that is true can an asahi hopper be retro fitted so that way in the future as hoppers begin to wear they can be rebuilt.

I don't know what the current hoppers are being used but the original
hoppers were indeed Asahi Seiko. I've been out of the company for a few
years since they closed up Lakewood and kicked us all to the curb but when I
was there we tried to source parts from Asahi Seiko directly and they would not
sell to us.

It's easy enough to adapt a generic hopper to the existing system but the hard
part is going to be getting the existing tracks/rails to line up with the new hopper.
