I have a working Egyo 19 inch VGA monitor that came in a converted Centipede cabaret (Simply Solitaire). The conversion was done using the power through the Atari brick (for convenience mostly from what I can tell). That said, I've moved the monitor to another game and am trying to determine if it requires an isolation transformer.

I can find no numbers (Wei-Ya) on the chassis (has the Eygo stickers) and cannot get pictures to upload on KLOV today. Therefore. I'll describe the chassis...

- 15 pots (two are smaller) across the back, all in a row.
- Two small riser/daughter cards on the right half of the chassis
- A small transformer at the front of the chassis on the left-hand side of the chassis
- The flyback is on the front, right- half of the chassis
- The VGA cable connects on the back left-hand corner of the chassis
- The 110V/AC power cable attaches to the outer, left-hand edge of the chassis, almost half-way up

I have hunted through previous KLOV posts and pictures and have not seen my monitor/chassis.

Any help is appreciated.

Usually monitors with three wire AC inputs don't require isolation, but I'm not familiar with that specific chassis. Even if it doesn't require one, it wouldn't hurt to add one. Better safe than sorry if you don't get a definitive answer.

I believe it only has two power wires, but will double check. Yes, having an ISO won't hurt anything, but I'd prefer not to have one, if possible, due to how little room is in the bottom of the cabinet.

Thanks for your thoughts. This is definitely the first one of these chassis I've seen.

If you have a switch mode power supply on the monitor chassis, it doesn't need an ISO. So look @ the chassis and see if there's a fairly large transformer (that looks like a smaller ISO). If that transformer is there, then you have a switch mode power supply and don't need an ISO. It'll be about two inches square.

So, like a K7000 doesn't have one, and needs an ISO...

but a K7400 DOES have one, and DOESN'T need an ISO

Thanks for the thoughts guys. The power cable consist of two wires, however there is a large transformer on the chassis with a large Eygo sticker on it (a little bigger than on the K7400 chassis pictures).

I'll post pics when KLOV allows it again.

See the links above for images of this Eygo VGA CRT monitor.

I'll be grateful if anyone can definitely identify this chassis. It works, but had some bowing (opposite of pincushioning) I'd like to fix.
