Stumbled onto this gem monday afternoon and snatched it immediately! The game wasn't working when I got it, but this time it actually was just a fuse!!! I've already rebuilt the joysticks and done a lot of cosmetic work...some bondo, paint, new black vinyl and plan on getting a set of new artwork to replace the faded original stuff. Anyway, the volume works fine, but I cannot adjust it without losing it completely. I'd like to replace the dual volume pot, but don't know where to find one that will fit the pcb...anybody able to help me find one?
Thanks!
Mike

fun game, no idea where to get that pot though. Maybe hose the pot down with contact cleaner and turn the knob back and forth while spraying it??

Stereo audio taper potentiometer.

Usually what 50k or 100k leme see if I can find the manual and look it up.

They have 6 pins 3 for left channel and 3 for right

I see the audio amp the TDA2030, but not a parts list off the schematic in section 5 of the manual...

Ill give it another look when I can.

Manual here http://www.aurcade.com/games/manuals/00000280.pdf

I know ele company philmore makes some. But that is a through hole version, and most now have circle eyelets.

Gamefixer has the better suggestion, try some contact cleaner first. But remember contact cleaner moves contaimnents around. So watch for residual spray.

Thanks...looks like it's a 10k pot according to the diagram in the manual. Now to do some googling

Toobin', Xybots and some other games from that era use a similar audio PCB.

I was working on my Toobin' last week and it was doing something similar. I had great luck with the contact cleaner method that gamefixer mentioned. It's worth a try before you replace the pot....but let us know if you find a source for replacements!

Page 35 [4-5] figure 4-4, shows the audio pcb assembly and lists it as 10k

Crud.. Sorry about that, I overshot that section.

Also linear pots and audio pots are different.

Linear are kinda scratchy because as you turn both sides will be equal resistance wise dead center, a audio pot follows a log function and sounds more natural. They also cost more.

I hope I am explaining it correctly.

And that pot you linked looks correct states log pot.

Don't use contact cleaner. It's too aggressive. It will destroy the coal layer of the pots.

The dual 10k pots on ebay will work. Layout is always the same. Maybe the gap between the pins are different.
It can matter if they are linear or logarithmic. For audio purposes are normally logarithmic pots used, But this one is used as a trimmer so it should not matter.
